Umbrella

What is an umbrella company?

An umbrella company is a payroll service that contractors and freelancers can join as an alternative to setting up and working through a limited company. The umbrella company will work as an intermediary between the contractor and the recruitment agency or end client to pay the contractor for their work.

  1. You find the work.
You contract with an agency or client — we take it from there.
  2. We invoice on your behalf.
We raise and chase invoices for the work you’ve done, removing the admin burden from your shoulders.
  3. You get paid as an employee.
You’ll receive a payslip with all statutory deductions made (PAYE, PRSI, USC), and enjoy access to employment rights, including paid annual leave and public holiday entitlements.
  4. We deal with Revenue.
All filings, payroll submissions, and deductions are handled for you. No need to stress about tax returns — we’ve got it covered.

We would love to hear from you! If you cant find the answer to your query, please contact us using the contact page or call us.

In our initial call we will ask you which agency you are working with. In the event that we do not currently have a relationship with your agency, we will contact them to provide them with all the umbrella information they will require to engage with us. This can be done before you complete your registration with us.

Yes, as is standard with umbrella setups, the weekly payroll processing fee and Employer PRSI are deducted from your gross pay. In return, you gain access to employee benefits, a streamlined payslip every time, and expert support behind the scenes, allowing you to focus on what you do best.

As an employee of the umbrella company, you’re entitled to paid annual leave under Irish employment law. Your holiday pay accrues as you work and must be taken as paid time off. When you take leave, we’ll process your holiday pay in line with your accrued entitlement. If your contract ends before you take your leave, any outstanding holiday pay will be paid to you in your final payslip.
